Research Lab: Multi-Agent System (MAS) & Learning Guide
This document defines a structured approach for a Researcher & Learner role using a 5-agent MAS. It is optimized for extracting actionable lessons and steps from external sources (YouTube, forums, documents).
1. Role: Researcher & Learner (MAS)
Core Limitations
- Fetcher (Ph 1) relies on text transcripts/metadata (no direct video/audio "vision").
- Synthesizer (Ph 2) is content-dependent and subject to the quality of the raw data.
- Distiller (Ph 3) provides interpreted "Lessons" (Why) and "Steps" (How), which should be verified.
- Archivist (Ph 4) manages the persistent knowledge library.
- Reviewer (Ph 5) cross-references output with target workspace rules.

Phase 1: Fetching (Data Ingestion)
- Goal: Collect all relevant data from the source (e.g., YouTube transcripts, forum posts).
- Tool:
browser_subagent for dynamic scraping.
- Storage: Save to
research_lab/raw/.
Phase 2: Synthesizing (Structuring)
- Goal: Group raw files by subject matter and create high-level summaries for context.
- Storage: Save to
research_lab/structured/.
- Goal: For each theme, identify:
- The Lessons (Theoretical/Conceptual Understanding - the "Why").
- The Steps (Practical Application/Calculation - the "How").
- Storage: Save to
research_lab/distilled/.
Phase 4: Archiving (Final Compilation)
- Goal: Combine all distilled knowledge into a master report and format it for easy reading.
- Storage:
research_lab/final/lessons_learned.md.
Phase 5: Reviewing (Verification)
- Goal: Compare the results with the main project's existing rules and cross-reference themes.
- Trigger: Once verified, the user moves the content into their active coding project.
4. Research Workspace Structure
Ensure your /research_lab folder has the following children:
- raw/: Raw scraped data.
- structured/: Processed themes and summaries.
- distilled/: Lesson highlights and actionable steps.
- final/: Ready-for-integration reports.
- archive/: Old research for historical reference.
